Gifted to UCSC in 2010, the Morton Marcus Poetry Archive is housed in Special Collections at McHenry Library at the University of California at Santa Cruz. The archive includes over 1300 books of poetry, 204 audio recordings of interviews Mort did with other poets, broadsides, Mort's personal papers, manuscripts, and correspondence with other poets and writers. This collection reflects Mort's legacy as a poet and educator.

Special Collections already holds the personal libraries of such renowned poets as Lawrence Ferlinghetti, George Hitchcock, Kenneth Patchen and William Everson. Now, Special Collections has added the Morton Marcus Poetry Archive to their poetry collection. Christine Bunting, Head of Special Collections and Archives at UCSC said, “He worked for about a year before his death, preparing and organizing his collections for us."
