THE 4th ANNUAL MORTON MARCUS MEMORIAL POETRY READING honors poet, teacher and film critic Morton Marcus (1936-2009), one of Santa Cruz’s beloved cultural icons. This fourth annual event will feature award-winning Palestinian-American poet, writer, anthologist and educator, NAOMI SHIHAB NYE.

The evening will be hosted by Gary Young and will also feature the winners of the 2nd Annual Morton Marcus Poetry Contest reading their winning poem. The 2013 grand prize went to Danusha Laméris. Second place went to Dane Cervine, both of them are Santa Cruz residents.
